In this video, golf coach Scott Hogan demonstrates an easy drill for golfers of any skill level increase their club face and club path accuracies using alignment rods and the FlightScope Mevo+ with Pro Package.
By knowing how to utilize the club face and club path, golfers are able to hit more controlled draws and fades, which will help with accuracy on the driving range, on the golf course and in simulation.
Hogan starts off by explaining the relationship between club face and club path, and how a golfer can use these parameters, along with the Mevo+ launch monitor, to calibrate their golf swing. After setting down three alignment rods in a trident shape, Hogan gets a feel for his club face by hitting quarter and half-shots while trying to keep his club face pointed at the middle rod, creating a straight shot.
Once he understands how hitting a square face feels, Hogan moves on to adjusting his club path. Using the alignment rods on the sides, Hogan starts to swing his club so the club's path is aimed to the right or left alignment rod, depending on if he wants to hit a draw or a fade.
By using the alignment rods, and the launch monitor's data, Hogan is able to learn the perfect relationship between club face and club path, and utilize it to gain better control and dial in his numbers with different types of shots.
